🇨🇭 Remo Freuler is enjoying a great campaign at Bologna

Remo Freuler is enjoying a great campaign on loan at Bologna.

Back in Serie A, he is once again showing the excellent ball retention and link-up passing that made him stand out at Atalanta. The Swiss international is quite press-resistant as well as he can dribble out of tight areas, making him a very handy build-up player in Thiago Motta’s fluid possession-based system.

Freuler also works hard defensively, offering a good deal of defending quantity, disrupting opponents’ possession sequences and looking strong in ground duels. All things considered, the 31-year-old defensive midfielder is perfectly suited to a role at the heart of Bologna’s midfield.

Unsurprisingly, then, reports have suggested that Freuler’s move to Emilia-Romagna is all but officially permanent. His loan from Nottingham Forest will expire in the summer, but he looks very likely to stick around as Bologna go on a European campaign.
