Raphael Veiga remains a valuable midfielder for Palmeiras.

The 28-year-old Brazilian can work as a lovely creative attacking midfielder, but crucially offers very good ball retention consistently. He loves to drop back and playmake from deeper areas too, resulting in excellent passing toward goal numbers. At the same time, he can also operate in tighter spaces, using his close control to win ground duels.

He can also pose a decent shooting threat, making him quite difficult to defend against. As Palmeiras undergo a bit of a transition under Abel Ferreira this season both in terms of their squad and tactical approach, Veiga’s experience and quality make him a crucial player.
