Nuno Mendes has established himself as a very well-rounded full-back.

Having impressed as a left wing-back for Sporting, the Portuguese international has looked great in two different roles for PSG in the last two full seasons. In his first season in the French capital, the young defender was deployed on the left of a back-four where he played an important role in his team’s build-ups offering excellent ball retention and link-up passing as well as doing a decent enough job defensively. He was pushed up a touch in 2022/23, freeing him to contribute with significant attacking output too as he could freely utilize his ability to get down the wing with and without the ball.

Mendes missed almost a year’s worth of action through a serious hamstring injury, but he appears back to full fitness now. PSG will be very glad to have him right in time for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
