M'Bala Nzola proving to be a quality signing for Fiorentina

M'Bala Nzola has proven to be a very shrewd signing for Fiorentina.

Signed for about €8m, the Angolan international has featured in all 10 of his side’s league matches so far. He shone for relegation-battlers Spezia last season, bagging 13 goals in 31 appearances but also offering a lot more with his persistence and hard work in chasing long balls, contesting duels, and holding up play to bring his teammates in.

So, although his attacking output has not been the best so far this term, our model recognizes that he is still excelling at his strengths which have earned him high ratings in ground duels in possession, ball retention, defending quality, and defensive quantity at 82, 95, 90 and 81 respectively.
