Johan Vásquez is starring for newly-promoted Serie A side Genoa.

Operating with a lot of freedom on the left of a back three, he has excelled in almost all aspects. His ability to push into midfield enables him to produce much more attacking output than most of his positional peers as he sometimes pops up in the final third too, while his aggressive defensive approach leads him to get through a lot of work out of possession too.

The Mexican international’s impact both on and off the ball have earned him an incredibly high xGAR (Expected Goals Above Replacement) rating of +0.13 for the Serie A benchmark, so some of the league’s stronger teams must be keeping an eye on him.
