The Danish international’s defensive work – both in terms of quality and quantity – has improved steadily since he joined the club in 2021.

For a team whose tactical style has been heavily centred around a compact 4-4-2 mid block in recent years, having solid centre-backs like Andersen is crucial. The ex-Fulham defender will only have a couple of years left on his contract at the end of this season, so it should be interesting to see what his – and Crystal Palace’s – next move is.
