🇦🇺 Alexandar Popović made an interesting move in January, joining Gwangju FC

Alexandar Popović is a young player to watch in Korea.

The 21-year-old defender made an interesting move in January as he joined Gwangju FC in South Korea. Based on his development trajectory and performances this season, our model believes he should go well in K League 1.

The Australia under-23 international stands out as a ball-playing center-back, having displayed particularly excellent dribbling and very strong passing toward goal in his final A-League season. He is quite solid defensively too and gets through a good volume of work, though his strength in duels can be suspect at times.

On the whole, though, Popović seems an exciting young prospect who will be worth following in his first season abroad. He started all of his side’s first six games of the league season but then left for the Under-23 Asian Cup, so he will hope to reclaim his spot and hold it down upon returning.
