Germán Berterame is on fire in Mexico.

The 25-year-old Argentina forward has been plying his trade in Liga MX since 2019, when he joined Atlético San Luis. After three successful years with them, he was signed by Mexican giants Monterrey in the summer of 2022.

Berterame’s profile is quite a unique mix that places him somewhere between a striker and an attacking midfielder, so he seems best off as a second striker. In such a role, his excellent link-up play is allowed to shine alongside his clinical shooting from central areas.

The former Argentina youth international was recently the subject of transfer interest from Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers, who reportedly submitted a $15 million bid. However, he decided to stay in Nuevo León for the time being at least.
